I was just setting here bored, browsing through the Polk speakers and was wondering what current floor standing model would most closely compare in sound performance to my old SDA 2's. I haven't heard new Polks in about 3 years.Hell,I need to get to a store and give the newer models a listen for myself,but I have to admit ,I have a hard time comparing the speakers in my home to different models with different amps and room sizes in the stores.

    I haven't been speaker shopping since I bought my speakers (SDA2a) over 15 years ago. The prospect scares me.

    I'm wondering what speaker prices have done in the past 15 years. If they're like cars, they've gone up by one-third. If they're like electronics, they've gone down.

    How old are your SDA's, and are they still your main speakers?

    Let me think, I bought the SDA2's about 1990. I gottem from a store in Shawnee Okla. They had been in their showroom for about 2 years when the owner shot me a deal on them. I got the pair for about $700.00 as I recall they listed then for near that per speaker.
