I’ve had a small bit of good fortune come my way, and because I’ve always liked the “pay it forward” concept I’d like to use Karma here to pass it on. I’ll try (and not succeed) to make this brief: A month ago I ordered 2 discs from Amazon.ca. They were to arrive a few days later, that time came and went with no delivery. Did the tracking thing, then called Amazon, they immediately considered the package lost (UPS). One disc was flown next day to me, the second was reordered a couple days later when they got one more in and both have been received (even got a $20 discount for my trouble). You probably see where this is headed. Two days ago, the original package showed in my mailbox with the two discs. They don’t belong to me, so I called Amazon and asked what they wanted to do. I gave them the choice to get it back obviously on their nickel or I had an idea to gift it, and they basically said the case was closed and I was welcome to go the gift route.

I’d like to say right off here, kudos to Amazon, that’s where any thanks should go. This was my first bit of trouble in the 5 years I’ve been buying stuff from them, and I really liked their customer service, something sorely lacking today in a lot of businesses. So without further ado…these discs are still in the original Amazon fold up box thing, so obviously they have not been opened. That said, I won’t be opening the package, it ships best the way it is, so the winner will have to take both discs. AND most important, I would really like these to go to someone who will PLAY them and not flip…please?

The discs are: Who Framed Roger Rabbit on blu-ray and the original Black Sabbath (Black Sabbath, self titled) on SHM-SACD. I believe there is a SHM-CD version floating around of this as well, but this is the SHM-SACD version which, according to CD Japan, is out of print. So, you must have an SACD player to spin this (and, it’s awesome).
It’s easy to give something away that I have no vested interest in, so my part in this will be to pick up the shipping as long as it’s in the great 48 States or Canada. I’m under the assumption that there is no duty for you folks in the States under $200? I’ll take names over the next couple of days then do the name/hat/draw thing. Two reasons I’m doing this: I’ve had lots of help/good (mostly ) advice on here the last several months that doesn’t go unappreciated, and when I was little my mother taught me to share. Good luck!

Apparently spring is a pipe dream here as well. We may just go from this winter into the next, why bother breaking out the lawn chairs and bbq?

Oh and FYI, no one's allowed to ask me to connect the dots between these two discs, it can't be done.

Last call for anybody else that wants in. I'll take names till 6 this evening (central time) and draw a couple hours later. FYI, if one of our "temporarily banned" members wins, I will hold the items for a reasonable length of time after the suspension has been lifted, but will retain all names in case they decide not to return and draw again.

Thanks for the opportunity, T-Red! Cool random drawing method, even though I didn't win - thought I meant more to Petey than that!

The outcome apparently was predetermined just in that the name 'board' was pie-shaped.

LOL, I gave Petey a quick spin before I dropped him, think I was the only one that was confused. Though he was no Vanna White, he did a good job and got all the treats after the fact.

I'll pm SDA1C, thanks for signing up all
