My all time favorite! My wife surprised me with tickets to see him in 08,it was the best show I've ever seen! He looked worn,week,and weathered, but boy he sure sounded good!

That's where i'm at! I'm fully hetrosexual,but I just cant get enough of Merle's voice! The passion in which he portrays in his music is legendary! His 16 Greetest hits album is my alltime favorite album! Listening to "Going Where The Lonely Go" is a song That is on par with a "Celine Dion" IMHO,as well as "Hungry Eyes","Silver Wings",Ect,Ect. Pick up: Big City, Kern River, both are outstanding recordings. I'm not a huge Country Music fan, but Merle is the man. His albums are some of the best recordings you'll ever hear, everything is centered around that voice, which is always front, center stage.
