I'll throw these up here in case someone only needs a pair of EL34's. I used these in my Norh SE9 when I had it.

The Tesla's are more used than the Siemens, but are real Tesla's (before JJ) and sound just wonderful. As close to the original Mullard sound as you will find. Double O getters from the early 80's. Should have lots of life left in them. I bought them here awhile ago and used them sparingly $70/shipped.

The Siemens E34L are modeled after the original KT77, larger thicker glass than a typical EL34. They can withstand a bit more plate voltage and have a great bottom end. These come in original boxes and are from the early to mid 80's made in Europe. Siemens never made their own EL34's, they always rebranded with the most common being RFT made in East Germany. As far as I can tell these are not RFT's as RFT's have a stapled plate and these are heavily welded. They sound wonderful and are very rugged, if I had a quad I'd keep them. They probably have less then 75 hours on them. $75/shipped

How much better are these than the ones you gave me with the amp, or should I concentrate on replacing the 12ax7 first?

To me, a lot better. I know re-tubing an amp is a good chunk of extra $$ but it's worth it. It's on par with the difference between the Sovtek and Mullard made rectifier. The 12AX7 position is just as important, IMO.

You say Mullard rectifier, men say RCA is that the se thing?

If I had to choose only one to upgrade for now and knowing what's in there now (I put in the blue JJ you sent) would you recommend these or the 12ax7 as the more material upgrade?

I'm interested in the Tesla's. I already own 3 tubes just like the ones you're selling and I need a 4th (and having a spare is good). Do you know if running them at 400V in the Yaqin MS-30L would be OK?

RCA never made their own 5AR4 most if not all old 5AR4/GZ34 were made by a Mullard factory, mostly Heerlen Holland or Blackburn England. So yes the label is stamped RCA but it's a Blackburn England Mullard manufactured tube.

Boy it's very hard to say. I'd say both, but choosing just one is difficult. Poor power tubes will limit really good input tubes and vice-versa. I really didn't care for the 12AX7's that shipped with the unit (80's Phillips ECG blue label) so by a nose hair I guess those 12AX7's. It's a toss up, because there are many who like those 12AX7's too.

Not sure, you'd have to do some research but 400V sounds right in the wheel house for EL34's. Is it designed for EL34's? If so, any EL34 should work, unless it's some of the junk new ones that CAN have quality issues.

Yes it's designed for EL34's but their amps have EL34-B's in them and I'm wondering if the 34-B's handle higher voltages? I'll have to research this.

I'll put you 1st in line until you can verify. These old Tesla's are very robust. I would think 400V would be fine, but don't take my sole word on that.
