Looking for recommendation on rear surround speakers

In the past I've always used larger bookshelf speakers as my rear surround as they were physically behind me. With my new house, the rear surround speakers are literally right above me to the left and the right so I'm thinking that bookshelf speakers might not be my best option. I've been looking at dipole speakers or the polk omw3 wall speakers, both in white since I can't find anything in cherry (the color of my towers and soon center).

Conditions:

1. Must be wall mountable.
2. Indifferent on color
3. They will be powered by a Marantz 1602, not huge power but still sounds good.
4. Selling the house in favor of one with a larger living room is not an option.
5. I'm not partial to Polk, but the towers are polk (monitor 70 series 2) and the center will probably be Polk. Subwoofer is Velodyne.

Below this window is the sofa, above and to the right you can see the black box which has the speaker wire in it.

Opposite that window wall is this TV wall, the overall distance is maybe 10 feet.

If you have monitor 70's, why not go with a monitor 30's or 40's.

I have monitor 30's, which I easily mounted with a Pinpoint am40, which another member suggested.

Thanks, those may work. My other big issue is finding a center channel that will fit on that mantle. As you can see, it's very shallow, my CSi2 doesn't fit so I'm looking for something shallower.

CSi2 will match the Monitor 70's perfect. Replace the mantle, go to HD or Lowes and get a nice piece of 1x8 and make a custom mantle to fit you center.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

Eventually we want a really nice piece of timber for a mantle. Something in the 4x8 range for size. it's a matter of time and money to get it done. We just spent 4 months remodeling the house, right now we're not ready for more construction. :)

M30's and M40's would make good surrounds. The FXiA4's could also be an option.

Your center is probably the most important piece in the line up, I wouldn't skimp out on the CS2 due to the mantle. If you have the room over the TV, consider mounting above. I did that in a bedroom set up, mounting the CS2 over a 50" plasma.

Ingenuity my friend, open the drawer and grab some

It's possible to put it over the TV, we'll see. I'd have to find a good bracket to do it. Thoughts?

I stained my own birch wood and used large L brackets, but had to increase the angle to get the downward attitude I needed. I used a strip of L shaped aluminum across the front to hold the speaker from sliding forward.

I didn't mean to barge in here boys but... My L brackets were also bent beyond the 90 degrees common to them but I screwed the speakers to them as the speakers are up at the ceiling and I didn't want some getting konked. These CS2's are mounted in my work-out room and the big M70's are mounted on top of my large cabinets in my work-shop (soon to be audio shop) and are sitting in "cradles"looking down at about 10degrees. With the cs2's get into some solid backing or use large molly bolts. Mike

Not bad, my wife wouldn't go for it in the living room though. Still looking for options.

Remeber seeing a center channel speaker mount that attached to the top of a flat panel. I believe it was at standsandmounts.com. If I remember correctly, it was too shallow for CSi series, only 12 inches. DOn't know the dimensions that you require, but it may be an option.
