So i finally jumped on some LSi9s (have LSi7s, building a new HT) and im currently debating whether my current amp can make them sing. Im running a Parasound HCA-855a and will this be enough to really make them sing? I know the ratings on the amp are conservative for both 8ohms and 4ohms, both wattage and current.

So if thats not enough, im considering 2 options...

A - Sell the Parasound, go with an Emotiva XPA-5
B - Sell both my Yamaha receiver and Parasound, get a Pioneer SC-55

Now, i can get the both the SC-55 and XPA-5 roughly around the $800 mark, but i REALLY dont wanna have to shell out more ATM. In the future yes, now, not so much. I know the XPA-5 will make em sing, but will the SC-55 do the same with its Class D amps?

And what of my current Parasound amp? Any feedback would be appreciated. I will be during some 2-channel music listening (all genres) as well as home theater 5.1.

Welcome to CP, and congrats on the 9's! I have a pair and think they're great!

That Parasound will run them very well. In fact, it will probably sound better than the other 2 options. If you feel that it's working too hard, move up in power, but not at the expense of quality.

    Enjoy!
