Actually I've already got a MKII, but thanks.
As a fellow Sunfire sub owner I can vouch for this sub's ability to provide outstanding performance!! I haven't been able to make mine bottom out, and believe me I've tried.:D -
Damn, I'm getting ready to catch a layoff. Why does this always happen like that?:(

I'd jump but I've been looking for a 200 x 7 amp..... I can vouch for the sub though. A friend owns the local shop that sells SunFire. Nice and deep sounding. I've got a hunkering for an SVS though.Denon 3802

not tyring to hijack the thread but why does it say 1600 watts into 2 ohms and then time limited basis?

It means it self-destructs after 10 seconds, like Mission Impossible or Inspector Gadget.
 -
o thats what i thought

I was thinking it was must likely a heat sink issue. Such a heavy load has to generate some serious HEAT. Other than this Yes it would "Self Destruct" in 10 seconds.Originally posted by Airplay355

It won't self destruct, these things are friggin tanks. It will shut itself down after a short time if you try to seriously drive a two ohm load.

disappointing, i liked that it self distructed

come on man get with the joke.
Anyways it should be noted that in all seriousness it will only shut itself down if you drive a 2-ohm load with 2400 watts for a significant period of time. It should be stable for most 2-ohm loads otherwise. -
Actually he has the signature edition one on display, thought it's the 5 channel model. He's a good guy and I learned butt loads from him for car audio, but he doesnt give me any kinda discount.... but then again, I met him through his business about 13 years ago. Not like we llived next door to one another. I was looking at a B&K 7270 II for $2k actually. A little cheaper than the Sunfire, but still a very good amp.
Mean while I think we hijacked this thread sorry OP!!Denon 3802
