Looking for a "Cool Running" Receiver

Want to upgrade our bedroom system (no HDMI currently) with a lower priced receiver. Like the Onkyo 509, but the space will be tight - components are stacked, and I believe the Onkyo may run too hot.
The current receiver is a Sony and it seems to tolerate the close quarters well. Sony offers a model (810 or 820) that's pretty close to what's there now and to the $200 - $250 I want to pay, but would like to look around a bit.
Hoping you all may know of a few cool running receivers ... ?
Thanks

Used SC-05/07. Ice power to the rescue!
Oh, just saw the budget, you'll have to search long and hard for that order at your price range. I had a onkyo 607, and it seemed to run warm. Although I don't know about current models. Good luck! -
One reason your current Sony runs cool is because it doesn't have HDMI (no video processing going on). A lot of the heat generated in modern receivers (Onkyo for sure, but all to some extent) is from the video processing chip. I will admit that in my experience (very limited with lower-priced receivers), the Sony and Denon's do seem to run cooler BUT you will pick up some added heat with video processing of HDMI. You might want to go to a Best Buy or similar where several models are and just walk through and lay your hand on top of several brands. That should give you some idea.Sony 60'' SXRD 1080p

I have a marantz nr1501 and it is pretty nice. I found mine used on cl for $150 & it's only 4" tall with 4 hdmi 50wx7. eBay I think they are a little over $250

I'm giving up on this project. The initial interest arose when I replaced our Pioneer BDP-320 with the new Oppo. I wanted to "utilize" the more expensive Pio in the bedroom and slip the value Sony BDP under the bed. But (as they say) after further review, I'm reversing the call and the Pio will go to the electronics graveyard under our bed or up in the attic.
Appreciate the responses.Marantz AV7005

i gave up on the idea of an hdmi AVR in my bedroom rig as well...several reasons why, one of which was that its hard to find an hdmi AVR with a phono input and i wasnt that interested in getting a phono-pre....and the record player is mandatory so that was that.My Living Room
