Ebony Veneered LS50's

Haven't been around these forums lately, but I have to show this off a little bit.

For a little bit of history, I bought a pair of LS50's locally for $100 a year ago, which another user had linked to here in the misc audio deals section. The catch on that price was that they were covered in horrible black vinyl that was in the process of falling off. (I had before pictures, but I can't find them anywhere) Knowing something had to be done, I immediately set about removing it. While doing so, I ordered some nice ebony veneer from somewhere online.

Then, disaster struck! I decided to go back to school, and suddenly had no time to devote to pet projects anymore. For the past year, a tragically naked pair of LS50's has lurked, naked in my living room, while a box of veneer has sat in my office gathering dust. Finally, at the end of this year's winter break, with some free time between the end of a student co-op job and the start of classes, I got off my but and set about finishing the job. Thankfully, my veneer was not ruined by its' overlong stay in a box, and I spent about 40 hours getting the job done. They still want for several coats of finishing oil, but otherwise, they're good to go.

A couple of photos are attached for interested parties.

regards,
John
