Is anyone familiar with these components? I have a pair of JBL Lancer 77s I ahve posted on CL and a gentleman wants to trade me the Acurus equipment for them. I have never seen nor heard Acurus equipment. I currently switch between Vintage Marantz abd Adcom equipment primarily on my 2ch rigs and use primarily my SDA 2A's and SRS's along with VMPS Tower II SE's and some DCM TF 600 and 1000's.
I am simply trying to determine if it is a fair trade. I can find little to go on as far as current selling prices for the pre-amp but the amp appears to be going for between 150-200 on Ebay. The speakers usually go for around 400 on ebay (most recently 355). I find little information elsewhere to compare current relative values.

Acurus is a more budget oriented line Aragon. They make some nice stuff, a step up from your typical budget separates. I am a big fan of Adcom gear and the Acurus stuff is right on par although some will say the Acurus is little more neutral sounding. I don't necessarily agree, but they have a solid rep and are well built and are very rugged. If aren't looking for cash, I'd do the deal just so you can get your ears on them. Maybe $100 plus the speakers.
Acurus was bought out by the Klipsch Group and put out of it's misery about 5-6 years ago.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Puritan Audio PSM136 Pwr Condtioner & Classic PC's | Legend L600 | Roon Nucleus 1 w/LPS - Tubes add soul! -
Always heard excellent feedback on the Acurus and Aragon amps. Agree with H9, Klipsch bought them out and eventually Indy Audio Labs came to being and revamped the lines recently. Looking forward to seeing more reviews on these amps.
