My first DIY cables

I didn't have anything for the girlfriend to get me this christmas so i decided to have her get me the parts for DIY cables. I needed something to occupy me so this was perfect. I got some Belden 5000UE cable, cable pants, techflex, heat shrink tube, and banna plugs. I got the cable from BJC and the rest from parts express. This project turned out to be easier than i thought it would be. I cut the cable to length, stripped it and tinned the ends. Add a little heat shrink and techflex and it looks professional!

I also got a new fun tool in the process, a Bernzomatic mini torch. it had everything i needed; hot knife soldering tip, and heat shrink melting tip. Worked Perfect!

and now pics! I don't think i did too bad for being my first crack at it.

Nice work! I have so much of that stuff at my house but I never seem to get the time to make any cables :(

I know what you mean! it took me a few years to get tired of cutting of oxidized cable ends.
