Heavy Rattle at the bottom

Recieved a new floorstander today,and it has a heavy sounding rattle on the bottom when shifted(easily)from side to side! Is that most likely a magnet that fell off? I'm returning it,but still curious.:sad:

Hey Bob, I don't think it's the magnets. Could be but the way Polk shields the speakers I would be surprised. Of course you know how rough the shippers are and anything can happen. When I got my bookies it was the port tube rattling around, in both speakers, so I glued it back into place and everything is fine. Feel around the port opening and see if the tube is attached, if not open the speaker, gently, and fix it. I called Polk before I opened mine so my warranty would not be voided. Even if it was not the port tube, I really would like to know what the rattle is but that's just me.
Of course you did not say if you bought Polk's but since you posted here...... -
Thanx for the reply rebuy! Actually I bought a pair of KEF Q900's. Just trying to feel out a different brand of speakers! They responded quickly to me 2nite,after i E-mail the company,and are sending me a return tag. The only bummer is i wont have another one til mid next week! I guess they all have problems when going through shipping. I hear those KEF's are nice.
