Marantz DV9500 bring me a moment of bliss

After putting in over 65 hours this week I finally managed to have the motivation to hook up my new to me Marantz DV9500 SACD player tonight with it's 5.1 out. Just to get it up and running after I got it last weekend I had it hooked up to the aux input on the front of my Marantz 7002 but I really wanted to utilize the 5.1 on Dark Side of the Moon.

After running the 3 pairs of RCA's around my stand and changing the internal settings of the 9500 I was up and running. I finally realize what I have been missing in my system. A good source truly makes all the difference in the world. Sure, the squeezebox is great, but I only use it for spotify and pandora which isn't the best quality on it's own. Now, everything is singing as it should. I have a copy of Sea Change on special order that should come this week and with the christmas money hopefully rolling in, I can't wait to get a few more discs to spin.

Enjoy. I've got the same unit as my source and have enjoyed many hours listening to it!

So, what format did you order Sea Change in? SACD, DVD-A, Mofi redbook? I've got the latter two and really enjoy them both.

Supposedly it's the SACD... got it from a local place and they claim it's available in a brand new copy for 12.99! Crossing my fingers that it comes in... and if it does, ill make sure to order a few more to spread the wealth on the forum.

Well, chalk me up for one if it turns out in fact to be the SACD--I'd like to complete the trifecta for comparison purposes!

I think that album is so well recorded you almost can't go wrong, no matter the version.

Glad you like the 9500. I've had the 9600 (basically the same) in my system for a couple of years now. Sweet player, and built solid with really smooth disc tray.
