Just purchased Onkyo TX NR509 to pair with Polk Monitor 60 Series II speakers and Polk PSW10 subwoofer - all to hook up to our hdtv. Now wondering if I bought the appropriate receiver. Also what types of wire, etc will I need to assemble.

    Welcome to Club Polk!

That Onkyo is fine for what you have. You need a Sub Cable from the Onkyo SUB-out to the Polk LFE in. A couple HDMI cables to route through the Onkyo, and some good quality 16 or lower gauge copper wire for your speakers and you'll be good!
