Harmony Remote Batteries

Guys,

Just wanted to post this since so many of us use Harmony Remotes. Check and inspect the batteries in these things. I just opened mine up to inspect the battery and only to find it swollen and cracking. Here are some pics? I've had this for about yr and half so I'll be checking mine on a regular basis now.

    Could you have a defective charger? Mine remote is like 6yrs old and my battery doesn't look nothing like that.

    I do not own one but my sister does and she DID have the battery swelling issue. Now if this is a design flaw then put it in the instuctions that after the initial charge you do not need it to be in the carraige for quite some time. Then you have the same problem of misplacing one remote instead of 7 as w/ me.I'm still not a convert yet because my systems are all interelated and I'm not sure it can do what I need it to do. I did call Logitec and I got to tell you the guy was not all that reassurring.

    Well I just got off the phone with Harmony support and they would not replace the battery or the remote. They did offer me a 50% discount coupon for my troubles. I was able to order a replacement battery from Amazon. If you can't get the battery out then you maybe screwed as some have been. If your relative has this issue, have her contact Logitech ASAP @ 1-866-291-1505 for Harmony support.
