My current setup for HT is using a Pioneer receiver too drive my sda's which is not a good place too go. So I have a nice Luxman coming that I will use too drive the sda's. Now I am going to use the Pioneer pre outs too hookup into the amp but what I want too know is if I setup the receiver so at say 0db all channels are outputting the same spl will the channel lever track correctly right at say -20bdthe on the receiver or not.

If I understand what you're asking, the pre-outs will reflect the same relative output gain as the internal amps would. Having said that, the input voltage sensitivity level of Luxman (unknown to me) will require that you reset all levels after hooking everything up. Switching amps or introducing a new amp requires redoing the levels.

I knew I would have too setup the levels again on the receiver sense I would be using a separate amp and not the internal amp in the Pioneer. I really just wanted too make sure that once I did that the volume knob on the receiver would track correctly accost all channels where ever I set it.

Once the levels are reset (+/- whatever dB), the pre-out output gain will respond to the volume knob just like the internal amp did. Does that make sense? Not sue I answered the question completely.
