Anyone heard of the Nakamichi PA-70? I am in the military in Japan and ran across a used one in Mint condition...I have heard Nakamichi is high grade stuff so any opinions are much appreciated. More info....I know this amp came out around 1986 but was totally top end at the time.... How would this amp compare to today's selections? It is still kind of pricey due to the Yen rate but if it's worth it I would really like to know cause I want high performance stuff in my setup.

Nakamichi has made high-end, low-end and everything in between, but the PA-70 is most certainly high end. It's an old amp from the mid-eighties, costing about $2,000 when new. Should be a solid performer if it's still in good shape.

Decent. I'd pick it up if the price is right.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Great amp. That is a STASIS amp, which was a Nelson Pass design (think Threshold, Pass Labs). They are built to a high standard and have great sound. However, depending on how much it has been used, it may be due for an overhaul (capacitors mainly) if you plan to put it in heavy use.
