Again I'm sorry for this mess. The last time I posted a chance to buy a piece of gear at this price level (Tannoy Reds) I was told no one would have the kind of money for a piece of gear at that price. So I had no idea this would go the way its gone. I thought one or two members might want these.
-
I am really sorry to have caused you any grief Cayuga. Maybe ask a mod to close this one and relist when the info and prices are available.
1CToo much **** to list.... -
Nobody's intent is to cause the OP grief. We do need to keep the FM on the up and up though. My advice is to strike this thread, wait until you have product in hand with a firm asking price. If your selling these for someone else, you need to state that though not a good scenario and possibly against rules anyway. People here won't know who else is in line from outside sources the owner may have listed them on, or commited to unless you have exclusive rights to move the gear for someone else. If your going to do this quasy PM me with interest stuff, you have to make sure everyone knows who is in line for what by stating it here. Not trying to bust your balls bro, but we do take the integrity of the FM seriously around here.HT SYSTEM-

I guess if you set a price and collect names by e-mail and then pull the winner out of the hat, there's nothing wrong with that. It certainly is different than normal. But then if this is a high ticket item and there are several people interested maybe it's the most fair way to do it. I guess some of us get a little nervous because it's all done in secret behind the scenes, etc. But it's your sale and as long as the mods are ok with it, then it's fine.

One thing is for sure: those amps LOOK beautiful. One day....

Yet still no ballpark price nor an email as requested. Like pulling teeth.Jeff

I see nothing wrong with the post as a way to feel out peoples interest. I certainly wouldn't want to be on the line for 4 MC-275's if I didn't feel I could move them quickly. I can appreciate that. I put my name on the list and received email's and pics just as promised. I, too, would like to know the price...that shouldn't be so hard if, in fact, they have already been purchased. At this point, I'm taking my name off the list and the next person in line can move up.
Thanks for your consideration, Kerry. -

I'm going to send an email to everyone that responded at 6:00 PM today. The email will have the price and all other info. I know this time frame is bad for the west coast, but I can't seem to make anyone happy. Again I did this thinking I was being a good member, I'm sorrry that people look for the bad in everything. I won't make my good fortune apart of this club after this.
-
Others have said this, but I'm going to reiterate it: you need to post the price here in this thread for everyone to see.
-
I hope my post did not come across as seeing the bad or being negative. I truly have no problem with how it was handled. I just chose to take my name off the list. I certainly appreciate you giving guys on the Forum a shot and hope you will do so in the future. You're never going to make everyone happy. The only thing I think could have been handled differently is a bit more transparency in the pricing. I'm cool with how it all went down and thanks for considering me. Kerry

Cayuga,
i see no problems with you gathering names and prioritizing who gets first shot at each amp via PM, as there's plenty of precedent for that. Also, I see no problem with you getting a sense of interest level, as there is precedent for that as well. The only thing you need to do to comply with the rules is state, publicly, what your asking price is for each amp. -
Gents: If people would read my posts, I couldn't give prices or real detail until I knew what they were. I spoke with McIntosch this morning and they confirmed what I have and what the value is.
-
Ok, now I am even more confused . You know what you paid for them, so what are you selling them for? I still haven't recieved any emails? You have to know what you need to get to cover your costs. Why is it so complicated?Jeff

Something to keep in mind, unlike Agon or Ebay, Cayuga is not tied to sell these to anyone in particular or sell them at all for that matter.Testing

Wow, 23 minutes late and people are eeeeeedgy! I feel sorry for the OP, seems like he was trying to give people a heads up about what he was getting and it has turned into this. He clearly stated that he needed to verify what he had with Mac and stated a time that he would respond. Maybe he is still putting together an email, maybe he got stuck in traffic. You people need to take a deep breath, when there are different versions of a unit it will carry different prices. But on the other hand, maybe the thread should have been started today as a normal FS thread. This is worse then the mattress FS thread. I'd start a whole new one and make it first come first served, with prices. Wow people, wow.

Annnnd Paul comes through! At least he understands it. Hey, I heard you are making another round of cables, I'm going to call, pm, email, text and snail mail you. If you don't respond within three minutes I'm going to throw a fit!!! -
This doesn't look like a FS thread so when it's ready, post it again.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

So club member understand how this all worked, this is the email that went out at 6:00PM
Gents: I spoke with McIntosh this morning to confirm what versions of the MC-275 I have. I have the following amps for sale, two MC-275 MK3’s and one MC-275 MK4. The two versions are completely the same amp with regard to power, sound and value. The only difference is, the MK3 has screw in speaker terminals and the MK4 has binding posts. The MK3’s are 2005 and the two MK4 is 2007. These amps originally sold for $4500 according to McIntosh, there value according to McIntosh will be going up in the next few months because an anniversary edition of these amp will be released in three months with a price of $6500. So what are you getting? You will get a mint condition 275 with a reported 50 hours running time plus all original packaging (outside box, inside box, tube holder) and a owners manual. I have inspected all of the amps, they're very clean with no marks, dents scratches or sign of wear. One of them has silk screen lettering that has broken type (I'll send pictures) I think the orig. owner didn't use his head when cleaning them for storage.
After speaking with McIntosh and going over condition, packaging, ect. McIntosh sets a value of $3500 per amp. This is a first come first served sale with a fixed price of $3500 per amp. If you are paying using PayPal you will need to add 3%. I don't want to use Paypal if possible, I will except a personal check. If paying with a check, please Paypal me $50 as a deposit (mark as gift) to kjllittler@aol.com and send the balance via check. I will ship US only at a cost of $50 per amp (these thing are 70 lbs). I will ship the day your check clears or if using Paypal for the total, I will ship with in two days after payment. Please feel free to call me with questions at 315-447-5249. Again this is a first come sale, the order of first in will be based on PayPal deposit time. If you send a deposit and the amps are sold, I will refund your deposit the same day. I hope this is looked at as a fair way to sell these and if you make a deposit and don't get an amp I'm sorry I wish I had more. I've had a flood of responses and have only offered these to the Polk club members. Good luck, Rod (cayuga)
PS: The silk screen broken type is on one of the MK3’s, its not bad but I want people to know. -
