I just purchased the SDA SRS speakers this weekend. It was one of those that were raining in NW Ohio and posted on Ebay. I had the SDA 1B years ago and never found a speaker that made me look forward to listening to as much as the 1B's..

I'm presently in the process of hooking them up to my Dynaco 416's. Sounded great when I picked them up. Had a wrestling match with one of them when bringing them into the house and dented-in a dome on a MW6503. :( Any of you pollk folk have one cheap?

Once I have the speakers set-up, I'll post some pictures. Look forward of being a club member here.

The dent in the dust cap shouldn't affect anything. As long as it sounds ok, then there is no problem.

Is it dented all the way in? or just a divot?
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Dented in fairly good. Now is concaved inward lol. Customer service said to use a small fine needle pin and try to pull it out BTW, she was great. The final test is when I power the speaker up which should be shortly here.

There are a few fixes like gum, and a vaccuum hose tube that have worked for people in the past. It's just a dust cap.

The gang will probably chime in with their actual fixes for dented caps, and or domes shortly.

Yeah, I thought of the vacuum hose thing. I'll try that first. Thanks for the reply. Nice to know it's only a dust cover however, appearance wise, I hope to pops back out.

Brianomatic, if that speaker proves to actually be damaged, let me know and I'll help you out. My stuff seems to be selling like hot cakes anyway. ;)

I was going to mention you UC, but figured you would volunteer that information. I know you want to move the bulk of those items. You list prices yet?

dorokusai, no haven't listed them seperately yet. I'm not sure what to ask so thought a package price might work best. Guess not.

What do you think? Maybe $20 per item plus shipping? I hate to do it that way but hate to have the stuff just laying around when someone could get good use from it.

If I go that way, I'll hold back the 6503 until this thread's issue is fixed or resolved.

HERE is something I put together quite awhile back. It pertains to PC trades and is a bit dated, but might be worthy of someone altering it to fit the situation here. ??? If anyone wants to do so, have at it. There is no copyright and I'm the originator of the document anyway.

No luck UC, either w/ vacuum or tape. Really pushed in good. Would you like to unload a 6503?

Yep, but I'll only ask you for the shipping costs. Send me your address and I'll have the 6503 on its way by tomorrow. You can send me the shipping when you get it.

    rltsr@yahoo.com

    rltsr@softhome.net either will reach me.

and I have another "good" email but I'm not going to post it on a forum. Trying to keep it as spam-free as possible.

Thanks UC. I'm going to keep the old as a spare and maybe try to fix w/ a pin.

By the way, I won't give the old speaker to my father to sell on ebay.;)

Put me on the list as interested in the SL6501. I know I'm not first in line but if you decide to let things go as individual pieces and my name reaches the top for this item then please let me know.

    Thanks

Thanks for the welcoming, I appreciate it.

The SL6501 is committed to quickr1 and we just finalized the particulars via PM. I have decided to let things go individually as it seems that is the only way to sell the units: $20 + shipping per item.

It's funny how people immediately shorten my silly handle. UC has already been used and that is what I'm referred to on almost every other forum I participate in. I even refer to myself as UC - so I guess it fits. :)

As a new member to the Polk club, first I would like to thank Underclocked for the replacement speaker, 6503.

Second, I called customer service earlier, Helen. and WOW, I was impressed.

Third, everyone on the thread was Great, helping me out with my problem.

For Faster100: was it really necessary? Absolutely! Take off your thin, unsuntanned skin and look at my grinning face with a WINK!!!

No offence to Mr. V. Actually, I think you guys and gals gave him alot of flak, however, I still feel it was low to sell a free speaker; he should have returned it. Oh, well.

    Take care,

    Brian

Just shows what this guy knows. (which seems to be little on what he is talking about)
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Paron me, I have only been reading the threads for the last two months.

Yes, I read that you are excluded from your fathers dealings, however; you brought everyone here into your life and your father's, AND THEREBY YOURSELF AND FATHER UPON THE FORUM.

    Let it GO. I shall
