Bunch of components

All components are sold or spoken for. Thanks!
Guys, I'm a newbie here as I only located these forums yesterday, but I'm an oldie to Polk Audio. For years, Polks are what I preferred (and likely still would).
In my garage are two boxes containing a number of Polk drivers and a couple of crossovers. These are components accumulated during many years of using Polks, some were warranty exchange and some were salvaged from cosmetically damaged Polks. Most are from SDAs and RT series. To my knowledge, only one of the speakers I kept was damaged and it is marked as "klinker".
If any of you would be interested in owning these, I will make an inventory and post it up. Just hate to do that without knowing if there is interest.
I have a number of references for computer trades at Heatware and only a few at eBay as dadecoman.
Let me know if there is any interest and I'll go sort them out, make a list and maybe take a picture or two. I'm thinking about 200 plus shipping for the lot.
And, just to explain the "still would" comment - I was persuaded to "upgrade" from my Polks a few years back to some quite expensive Paradigm Studio 100s. From the time I set them up in my own living room, I knew I had made a mistake - but one I would have to live with. I did keep my LS/FX surrounds but went to a Paradigm center channel to match the fronts. My son-in-law already had took my Polks off my hands (and loved them) so there was no turning back. Kept these extra drivers and crossovers all this time thinking someday I would put together a couple of towers ----but I think that isn't going to happen.
My hearing is pretty well shot now, so it probably wouldn't matter much what speakers sit up front.
I'm through typing now
. Please let me know.

It's hard to say that there is interest without knowing what you have to offer. Hypothetically, I'm sure everyone WOULD be interested, should you have anything people need, and it's all in tested/working condition.
Pictures in the flea market are worth gold, so the more you have, the better your chances are of selling the stuff. Make sure you list the model numbers that are printed on the drivers too. Also, and this isn't an indication on you personally, but people tend to be a bit guarged by someone whose first post is a WTS (Want To Sell)ad.....no worries, just keep people WELL informed and don't do deals behind others backs......we all watch out for everyone else here (again, just general statements, nothing accusatory there).
Good luck......comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -
Let us know what you got. I am interested in 6511/6510 drivers and SL2000/SL3000 tweeters only.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Yes please make a list, and some pictures.

Understand about people being cautious of new people. You are right and so would I be.
May be tomorrow before I get it done, but I'll try to get the stuff together, make an inventory, and take a few pics to post. Just wanted to get a feel for things before taking on the job. I'm also a great proscratinator.
Okay, so I got ambitious.

Why would you have to live with them? They are very popular and you would have no trouble getting rid of them on Audiogon or ebay even if they are version 2.Graham -

I'm looking for a list.

Guys, where I live the only way I could swap/sell the Paradigms would involve considerable shipping. Nobody around here beside myself would even consider such speakers, at least nobody that I know of.
I drove to Fayetteville, Arkansas to buy the things and haul them back. That was around 300 miles of driving just to get the Paradigms. I guess they really aren't THAT bad.
I've posted a pic with labels up above. That will have to do for the inventory. Take note of the comments - one of the crossovers has a missing P3 connector but is very usable if you can solder. One of the SL2000 tweeters makes a buzzing sound and the one to the right of it has a slight crease in the dome but works just fine. I didn't bother taking the klinker 6503 out of its box but I'll include it if someone wants it in the deal.Whut? -

Where are you located? Sounds like you might not be too far from me!
I might be interested in a couple of those drivers, depending on what you want for them. I don't NEED them as replacements, however, so someone who does should get first shot at them.

Greenfield, Missouri. Headwaters of the Stockton Lake in the beautiful Ozarks. I would truly like to sell them as a whole package (the Polk things pictured). I've been away from the stereo forums/classifieds so long I wouldn't know what to ask for my Paradigms. I do recall ~ what I have in the three speakers and really don't want to take a beating.
I'm sure there are folks in Springfield that would be interested but I haven't really focused on any of this for a long time. Stage III colon cancer and other medical problems tend to divert attention and change priorities. Thankfully, I've been cancer-free for over 5 years now.
If anyone suspects that I am in anyway trying to pull a fast one or be less than honest, I invite you to click on the Heatware link I provided. That won't PROVE otherwise but it ought to be a good indicator.
I don't think anything has changed since I posted this pic so here is my setup now:
Oops, looked at this again and something has changed. That Proscan television died. Replaced it with a K-Mart RCA that turns out to have a better pic than the Proscan ever did.Whut? -
Stereo One in Fayetteville must be your closest Paradigm dealer? I used to be a regular in there when I lived in Fayetteville. Bought my Denon receiver there a few years ago. Nice folks.
You have a good looking system there. Is the Carver amp on bottom a TFM 35?
Jason -
im interested in the 6501 tweeter if your willing to seperate. let me know how much. thanks andy
-
That is exactly where I bought my Paradigms. I had to go down there pretty often to the VA Hospital and kept passing by that place. Finally stopped one day.............

And right again on the amp. I did have three matching TFM-35s but got a wild hair for the 3X200 Acurus you can barely see in the left cabinet. Carver tuner-preamp and a Carver dual tape deck complete my current Carver inventory.
Thanks!Whut? -
Sorry quickr1, we must have posted about the same time. I'll split only if someone takes the bulk of these items in one chunk. Don't want to do a dozen packages and postages. I would still be left with the problem of pricing as I do not know fair market pricing on every individual item. I think the $200 plus shipping asked price is fair for the whole shebang.Whut?
-
Good 6503 is no longer available. I guess (if I have to!!
) I'll split these up. $20 plus shipping for each component and if someone wants the klinker 6503 for parts, I'll include it for the cost of the additional shipping - but only with a purchased item. Whut? -
UC - Would you happen to have the Polk boxes for the mid-bass drivers? Like the one's you have for the tweeters?
NM, thanks anyways for the offer to the forum, it is very nice of you to do so.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
What SDA's are the crossovers from?
If you still have them in three weeks (Working on paying off another debt first), I'll definately take the two working SL2000'sThere is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin -
ill take the the 6501 and 6001 tweeters. itll be $40 plus shipping right??? if not let me know. ill pm you my address for shipping charges. thanks andy
-
Sorry guys, had to go work on an elderly lady's new computer. Back now and catching up.
Let's see, quickr1 they are yours pending payment. I'll send you my shipping address back via pm including my phone number in case something should go wrong. My popup blocker kept your pm from coming up, but I can get there.
jdhdiggs, those crossovers were from a set of SDA 2? but I really need to see some SDA pics to refresh my memory. I can recall about what they looked like and could point my finger at the correct pic, but can't swear to the model number without a refresher course. Can someone point to a good spot for SDA pics? I know they didn't come from the SRS set that I had while in Illinois and stupidly sold. Won't promise to hold them but no one else has asked about them.
dorokusai, I have boxes for everything pictured except the crossovers and two of the tweeters are doubled up in a box. I cannot swear that I have the correct box for each item but I believe I do.
SO, right now the good MW6503 is gone to Brianomatic USPS Priority. The 6501 and 6001 tweeters will go to quickr1. The rest remains available.
Thanks guys.Whut? -

ill say if your skeptical at all of buying from richard(underclocked) dont be. the packaging was outstanding. better than buying new. and shipping was very fast. very easy to do buisness with. all in all im very glad he was nice enough to seperate his components. thanks again richard. andy
-
A last effort. I'll take $125 plus shipping for the five 6511s, three SL2000s, and the two crossovers.
I'll trash the klinker 6503 and the buzzing SL2000.
Come on guys, buy me out. Else I have to sit them back on the shelves for another 5 years or so.
Forgot to add that Andy's money order arrived in my mailbox the same day he posted his results above. Thanks Andy!Whut? -
If you'll ship to Canada, I'll give you $100 USD + shipping for the whole shebang (including the buzzing tweet and the spare 6503.)
(I'm mostly interested in the four tweeters, but I can probably do something with the other pieces so long as I have those crossovers.)
Alternately, I could give you $80 USD (+shipping) for just the four tweeters ($90 if the creased one doesn't sound different at all.)
Tell me what you think. -
Got your pm and I think 80 plus shipping for the tweeters would be best for both of us. I cannot say the creased tweeter sounds no different as it has been far too long since I listened to it in a system. Anyway, that would be subjective and my hearing sucks these days.
Based upon what I'm seeing on the USPS site, it looks like about $25 USD for shipping by Airmail Parcel Post with a touch of insurance.Whut? -
Wait a minute.....got to thinking about this and that wouldn't be right. I was asking 20/per on the components and was only going to throw in the buzzing tweeter as a bonus if someone wanted it. So, the tweeters will cost you $60 plus shipping.
Now I can live with myself.

4 remaining tweeters are pending to Smith awaiting confirmation.
That only leaves the 5 MW6511s and the two crossovers. Oh, and the klinker.
Whut?
