Kenwood M2

Been listening to my new Kenwood Basic M2. The thing is a beast. Powers the RTi12 much better than the other Kenwood amp. Anyway, when I turn the R and L level knobs, the sound crackles, cutsout and then comes back on. I know it's an old amp, but is this serious, or does it just need a good cleaning?

Have not hooked up the sigma drive yet, but will soon.

It needs a good deOxit shot first, if that doesn't cure it a deeper investigation is needed. I had the smaller M1D and never had an issue with the level controls. Good Luck to ya, it's a great amp!

    Yes.

you need to unplug and unhook things off the unit to have a clean all around access. Take the top off and squirt the solution in the potentometers as you work them. Not alot is needed either. Let it dry overnight or more and try it out again.

You will find tons of info on it on the web!!
