Looking for advice for amp with SDA 2B

I've been a big fan of Yamaha amps, mainly the MX series, but I have read that these may be overly bright or just not an ideal match for these speakers.
I want to plan for an amp for when I have done the TL mod. I will be using this inconjunction with a Yamaha CX-1000 preamp mainly for turntable use. Would like to stay under $500 if possible, don't mind used or recapping if necessary.
Doesn't need to be a Yammy, just lookng for something that doesn't take the 2B away from it's intended sound.

I guess when I state "under $500" it's apparent pretty much anything will be used. The thought of staying vintage is an option, i'm just after the best sound from a respectable price point.
Would finding a 20YO receiver that needs a recap be a better choice than a newer Rotel, Parasound, etc? I've heard some seriously powerful receivers from the 80's and assume that with a good recap they would really shine.
Do the newer crop of amps lean on the bright side for the RDO198? I really don't want to pursue the tube route unless they are just the perfect match for these speakers. -

No and no. I wouldn't get an older reciever to power them.
A good amp will make them shine and the "newer crop" of amps aren't bright, what I mean by that is just because it's new doesn't mean it's bright sounding. There are plenty of "bright" sounding amps from all genre's.
Rotel
Parasound
B & K
Adcom
Carver
Acurus
NAD
Cambridge
There are literally about 20-25 choices
This would be a great match.

Personally I sold Yamaha gear back in the 80's and 90's and never thought much of it, still don't think it's all that great so I wouldn't personally recommend another Yammy amp.

P.s. I'd stay away, far away from Emotiva as well."Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? That's a good price for the NAD, thanks.
Probably should have asked "what amps don't mate well with the 2B". I'll search around, missed a MX830 that went for about $175 but everything happens for a reason. -
Well, taking a chance on a MX-1000 that apparently is "not working". I have a gut feeling it is and the seller tried to use it as a receiver and has no knowledge of it.
The unit powers up so we'll see, for $280 I think it's worth a chance.
