Just curious has the price of chicken gone up recently? I rarely eat out or get fast food of any type so maybe im just out of touch with prices, but today I decided as I was headed home to get some KFC to take home and went to the drive thru and was stunned at the cost of a small bucket of chicken 8 pieces $27.00 the 16 piece bucket was priced at $54.00 I lost my appetite when I seen the prices lol

$54.00 for the 16 piece?!?!? That is insane! I have not been to KFC for many years, but I cannot imagine the reason it would cost that much for a 16 piece meal. I also don't know how many sides you get with the meal (and how much of each side). It sounds like it'll be many more years before I eat at KFC.

My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

It's right around $10 here for an 8. Where do you live, on the moon?Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

Wow, that really is ridiculous. I don't eat at KFC anymore since their quality seems to have gone downhill; it just doesn't taste like it used to. I do know that I can get chicken significantly cheaper than those prices at Popeye's or Church's, both of which are better than KFC anyway.

I live in Alaska RuSs, things have always been a little more here than most places but I about crapped my pants when I seen those prices, wish I would have had my camera with me. I figured maybe $15,00 for the 8 piece and perhaps $30.00 for the 16 piece but it was almost double. I could have got a 3 piece meal for $10.20 but no breast, a thigh back and wing with mashed potatoes bisquit and cole slaw but I felt violated so I just left. It's right around $10 here for an 8. Where do you live, on the moon?

Now that Los Pollos Hermanos is likely out of business, they don't have the direct competition.

The last time I walked into a KFC was a few years ago and one of the employees was vomiting everywhere and an ambulance showed up to take them away. Needless to say I walked in and back out but the ambulance showed up and blocked me in the parking lot... not fun
And I think all fast food has gone up significantly - I find that as a good thing as it forces you to branch out as you can get REAL food at about the same price- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Crazy price.

Good old US dollars, no pesos up here. I almost always cook at home I might eat out once a year if that, primarily because I prefer my own cooking to that of most places so I havent really kept up on the prices of Restaraunt food or fast food but it seems to me that the price difference is substantialy more than it used to be, the last time I ate out I went to a local diner/cafe and had breakfast I believe, it was a shock then too. I had bisquits and gravy two eggs and coffee pretty much the cheapest things on the menu and it came to $13.50 before a tip if I recall correctly.disneyjoe7 wrote: »$54 bucks in Dollar!, or was that in Peso?
It looks like if I decided to eat out 3 meals a day it would cost me at least $50.00 and that is eating at cheaper places so I suppose I will continue to cook at home and be shocked again when I decide to eat out in the future.

Yeah but you probably have crab and salmon on the dollar menu right?Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

exactly right about local food being cheaper. My old neighbor was from South America somewhere and said that there chicken was expensive but lobsters were ridiculously cheap. The conversation started when I overheard her telling her friend how cheap chicken was in America and I thought I heard her wrong.
I was single then, she was a hot dancer, so I gave her a few tails. I got one in return. Good trade!
I wonder what I could have got though if I had given her some fried chicken?Polk Audio SDA CRS+ crossover 4.1TL by Trey/VR3 (Rings and custom stand by Larry)-Polk Audio SDA SRS2 crossovers by Trey/VR3Parasound HCA1500aYamaha rxa-3070 with musicast-Celestion SL6S presence,- sl9 surround backNHTsuper1's surroundMagnepan SMGParasound 1500pre- Sofia "Baby" tube amp - Monitor Audio Silver RX2 Marantz 2230/B&Kst140Technics 1200mk2 Gamertag: IslandBerserker I am but a infinitesimally small point meeting the line of infinity in the SDA universe -
I live in the interior part of the state so Crab is pricy here Salmon also if you buy from a store or restaraunt but usally I go salmon fishing so it cost whatever gas money is to get to the river and back so pretty cheap for me same for moose or caribou, heathier than beef is if you like the taste of it. If a guy is determined to eat cheap up here you can for the most part, milk eggs bread products coffe sugar etc you still need to purchase but you can have a garden grow most of your vegtables pick different sorts of berries to get your fruit vitamin C all kinds of fish, rabbits if you like them in the winter the occasional Buffalo if your lucky enough to win the lottery for hunting one and can manage to locate one in the given amount of time.Yeah but you probably have crab and salmon on the dollar menu right?

The average meal of eating out at fast food has gone way up in the last few years. It's to the point that people should consider running to the supermarket and get the prepared food (that is why almost every supermarket have these now).
Average meal for a family for 4 going to McDonalds (2 kids 2 adults) is close to $30 nowaday.
For $15-$20, you can stop by the supermarket and pick up one main prepared dish, add some fresh fruits and vegatables and have a much healthier meal. One just have to learn to cook quick meals.Main Gear

Yup!.. My kids love rotisserie chicken, corn, carrots or other assortment of vegetables and some rice or pasta. Less than 20 minutes to prepare. No major cooking skills involved and kids can help.Main Gear

I hadn't notice what things cost, but lately, I've been getting friggin sticker shock!
$17 for a 2 lb. bag of DD coffee
$4+ for a 1/2 gal. of half-n-half
$4+ for a package of cookies.
The list goes on and on.....

I see alot of people all the time getting those rotisserie chickens at each supermarket I go to. The one closest always sells out since they put 2.00 off after a couple of hrs. out there. They have turkey, ribs and great combos too. Very afordable to. The fast food places are starting to outprice their products enough to loose out. Hardeees is closing down a few around here since McD's started selling the thick burgers too.
Fancy restarunts are cutting prices to get customers and it's working! Ate very well at lunch with the guys today. 7.00 a head but we had water but still, great lunch.
I can't believe that KFC will stay open long at those prices snow. Keep us informed, ok?Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
