Just like the title says, how good is the sound of the sc25? Trying to see if it sounds better than the one in my rotel rc990bx.
Thank you

Get a separate phono stage and be even happier than either of those.
Like the Thorens MM-005 or step up to a tube one like the Bellari VP130.
Either will put a built in phono stage to shame. -
bump for more opinions. thank you joe for your input i would like to get more thought since i am trying to compare the two mentioned above.HT:

Here is another opinion from outside the forum. Just an excerpt.
From Sound Advice Blog:
This is just a sampling… you really need to go to Pioneer’s website to see how amazing this thing is. It even has a phono input for you fellow vinyl lovers out there! You would probably be best served with an external phono preamp like a Parasound zPhono but this is certainly better than no input at all.

The problem with current receivers and phono inputs is they don't put the R&D into them anymore. Vinyl is still considered a dinosaur in most peoples eyes. I am just giving you a better option if Vinyl is important to you. -

thank you joe,
like i said i appreciate it, i know that the phono section in today's receivers are not up to par, but i was under the impression that the phono section on my rotel preamp (rc990bx) is a very decent phono section, some people say that the phono section is worth what i paid for the whole thing (325), so i was just wondering how much money i would have to spend to hear a difference.
by the way my tt is a pioneer pl100 with shure m97xe cartridge, so nothing out of this world but so far it does the job.
