What does that weird dual triode go in? 12 pin? You got an old tv that needs a new oscillator?

That's a weird tube man, I'll check my stash in the garage, if I find anything, you can have it gratis.

Thanks Russ. Cant find anything on the Amperex. If it is made in Holland I will snag one. Hoping one of the tube aficionados will know.

I rolled a black glass Brimar 6X4 that gave me that whatha h3ll moment. Did not expect that. It smoked the tung sol.

I've got some 6X4 rectifiers, fo sho. Let me scrounge. Usually that orange globe print is 98% Holland, 2% Germany (Telefunken).

Thanks Russ, I pulled the trigger on the Amperex for $7.75 including shipping its worth a shot.

I am really impressed with the Brimar 6x4. At first it was typical British sound, warm with highs tilted to the back. After 3 days the highs are starting to come forward and have more detail.

George Wright made some decent gear IMO. Kinda utility looking but I like it. My Phono, preamp and amp all use rectifier tubes for AC, no solid state at all. WHich is good and bad.

I haven't met a Brimar tube yet I didn't like. Certainly cut from the same cloth as Mullard, but different enough that I prefer it to a Mullard based tube.

As far as 6fy7, I have no idea..............it's certainly not a common audio tube, that's for sure.

I agree H9 on the Brimar comment.

Mr. Daniels turned me onto some Brimars a while back and love them. The seem to have a better presence in the highs than Mullards, IMO.
