I know, I know and at the risk of getting ribbed, I have to say this is a nice amp.
I have listened to this piece for two days now and it sounds great with all types of music. I was looking for more power for the RTi12s and this amp has done it.
That said, at 155wpc its still not quite enough power, but I did notice a slight improvement over the 110wpc that my Elite has.
This amp has a nice clean sound that I still remember from older Kenwood amps. This 1989 amp does what its supposed to do; deliver clean, ballsy, undistorted sound.
The sound reminds me of some Yammys I have heard in the past and for what its worth, was a good buy.
91 bucks shipped from Cal cant be beat for watts per dollar.
Next upgrade will be a Kenwood Basic M2 for the fronts, and I can use the KM-209 to power the center or move it upstairs, buy a pre and start to set up a nice 2 ch system with my RTA 8ts and Denon TT.
In a nutshell, if you are looking for clean power at a low price, currently, the older Kenwoods are hard to beat.

Sounds like you've made up your mind.
If ya like it, get it. -
Isn't that the amp that we identified as being a piece in an old rack system? If so, just remember that it will probably, as Mr. Grand pointed out, only put out half its power into 4 ohms.
However since you're running 8 ohm speakers up there. I suppose that it should hit its full power of 155 w x 2. Even so, Rti-12s can soak up even more 'power' than that. But if it sounds good? I'm sure it's a bit more powerful than that VSX 23 since that's not an ICE amp.
I actually have an unused Dolby Surround Kenwood from 1990 stored in my basement. The thing is rated at 130 W x 2 and has a small 20 w x 2 amp section for the rears. I've 'never' been able to turn the volume past 12 o'clock on that. Weighs over 36 lbs. Draws 5 amps from the wall and has a limiter switch for 4 ohms like your unit. But 'plenty' of power in two channels at 8 ohms!
Enjoy!

Yes, same rack amp as mentioned before. I have not heard one for quite some time and was a little leary trying to power such power hungry speakers with it, but it does great and I am not on the hunt for a more powerful older Kenwood M2.
Good power for those of us on a budget!
