Is this the best year to buy a 3d projector

There are so many new offerings this year at cedia from all the major manufacturers and the prices are all coming below the 3k mark for a great 3D 1080p projector

My favorite offering is coming from epson with a pj that has 2000 lumens and 2 pairs of 3D glasses for $1599

The question is do you keep the current pj and buy a less expensive one for 3D so you dont toast the bulb ?

Are any of the audio/videophiles here diving into the 3D pj market this year or are you going to wait till next year or just not bother ?

I think my 3d tv is crap but after getting a demo this year of 3D on a big HT setup my impression has changed about using active shutter glasses

I am definitely going to take the dive into 3d front projection. With Panny, Epson, Optma, all having pretty good offerings around 3k and the JVC RS40 not being that much higher, its a no brainer. With current top end 3D TVs costing just as much, if you can do front projection, you should. I have talked to people with 3d setups and all have told me viewing size plays an important part of how well the 3D is displayed. As I said earlier with offerings starting at $1500 and nicely equiped 3D projectors in the 3k range. Its a no brainer.

seeing I bought a VT25 and doing anything with 3D makes me feel like crap and my eye's hurt I have no reason to upgrade my TV or PJ. Plus not enough titles in 3D that I would care to watch.

I would still like to get a better JVC for better 2D playback. I have the HD250 which I find is amazing at the price point and really looks great for HT. 3D I still think is not doing as well as many people had hoped. My local best buy pushes 3D like no other yet have maybe about 20 titles on hand that are 3D and most are just crap.

I think I may eventually jump on the upgrade this yr. JVC has the RS55 and 65 that will output to 4K resolution. That should look sick on the big screen, not into the 3D portion of it though.
    Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

MSRP for the 55 is around 8k and for the 65 around 11K. Street prices should be much lower though.
