For sale is an excellent Harman Kardon 680i Twin Power stereo reveiver from around 1981 or so. This is in excellent shape and setup to take detachable power cords. HCC amp with termendous power and an excelllent tuner section. All controls work as they should . Love the old HK stuff and have it because I could not have it back when i was in college but would go in to Schaak Electronics and drool over them . I want to collect the vintage gear and keep it but the reality is I am in no position to do so Asking $125 Thanks, keith

^ gep's in MN unless he's moved recently. I purchased some Monitor 7 cabs and various parts from him earlier this year and it was a smooth transaction with quick shipping and packed to survive almost anything. beautiful and great sounding piece.
some interesting remarks from deepmagi.com....
"The 680i was one of harman/kardon's first attempts at using a digital tuner for AM/FM. It also acted as a transition piece, bridging aspects of their earlier products with those that were to come. However, the overall sound of the 680i kept true to the classic h/k signature: smooth, warm, and unrestrained. Like earlier high-end h/k receivers, the 680i featured a Twin Powered system. However, unlike earlier systems, the 680i did not feature two separate transformers, but instead used dual 35-volt secondaries on one core, with separate rectification and filtering after that. The benefit of using two secondaries on the same core were increased current capability if one channel required more power than the other. For this feature, harman/kardon introduced the phrase "High Instantaneous Current Capability" or "HCC" for short. harman/kardon claimed that the power supply for the 680i was able to deliver up to 30(!)-amps of current for a short amount of time. This claim may be a little dubious, but the 680i is a champion with low-impedance speakers."

Keith, this still for sale? I could use it in my garage rig.
