    I think this has plenty of power for some Monitor 10s and 7s .EndersShadow Does yours run hot? I was thinking about stacking,with a rack in between them for circulation.

    Not that I have ever noticed. BUT I don't run it full volume that often.

    I would think you would be fine.

    Right now mine is totally cool to the touch and I have been doing some regular TV listening for a couple hours. Using Xbox or movies never seen it show heat at all.

    I totally agree (look at my car amplification lol).

    BUT word of warning: watch what speakers you connect. I had this amp connected to a set of Maggie MMG's and not even really turned up that loud (via a NAD pre) and it was struggling.

    But I think thats because those Maggies drop down below 4 ohms at some points.

    My LSi's, Monitors, Infinity Primus have no issue running loud and hard on this amp.

    If I am reading correctly the monitors are easy to drive. Now its time for a crossover upgrade. Thanks again Dan

    Monitors are easy to drive. Not sure they are worth the money to upgrade the crossovers but thats me. The RTi and LSi line however I think are.

    But if you want to go for it I say do it!

    I've had mine for 3 years and am currently driving a 5.1 setup with SDA 1C Studios as mains. I'm using a NAD T747 as a pre-pro and love the combination.
    Sony 60'' SXRD 1080p
    Amp = Carver AV-705THX 5-Channel
    Processor = NAD T747
    Panasonic BD35 Blu-Ray
    Main = SDA-1C Studio with RD0s, spikes, XO rebuild, rings, I/C upgrade
    Center=Polk CS10, Surround = Athena Dipoles, Sub= Boston 12HO
    Music/Video Streaming = Netgear NEO550
    TT = Audio Technica

    I've had that amp in the past,great amp. Quiet,neutral, runs cool, but a word of caution. The speaker binding posts on the amp will strip easily if you crank down too hard on them. Thats the only flaw I found with it.

    I retract my statement. I thought you meant the "newer" Monitors like Monitor 60's, not the "older" ones like the Monitor 10's.

    Those will for sure benefit from the crossovers being upgraded.

    Thats what I get for making assumptions :biggrin::eek:

    New monitor70s-40s in the house, old monitor 7bs-10s in the shop.New pretty for the wife, old and crusty for me.Its funny I listen in the shop all day and when I come in the house and listen both sound good to me just different.If that makes sense.

    Totally, I just see value only in updating crossovers in the old ones. The return on investment in the "newer" ones isnt there.

    How you liking it so far?

    I have noticed as they break in they sound a little better each time.You cannot go wrong with polks for the price vintage or new.

    I got the carver amp hooked up this weekend. I have to say I am pleased,string instruments seem to be more pronounced. Van Morrison,Avalon Sunset sounds incredible,Alison krauss sounds like she singing in my ear.The slap of the drums the twang of the steel guitar is just great.My ears hurt before I can turn it up past +10.Paired with the nad I am a happy man.I do know there's better out there but for a shop set up.Not bad at all.

    Yup. Been loving my 705x myself w/ both my Monitor 60's and LSi 15's.

    It has never buckled but I havent really had the chance to let it soar yet in my townhome.....
