I'm looking to find someone in the New England area (i'm in Boston) who might be interested in modifying and improving my Wilson Cub's to see what we can make of them. I might be willing to pay for the expertise and help in what to do, haven't gone about modding a speaker before but would like to give it a try perhaps. Please send me a PM or post your thoughts if interested, and i'd love to hear any advice from others no matter where you are from. Thanks!
Current System:
Paradigm Signature S2 v2
Conrad Johnson MF2500
Wyred4Sound DAC2
Audioquest Black Mamba II

For Sale:
3x Wilson Cub's
Conrad Johnson MF2500

With an encapsulated crossover, you won't be doing any minor tweeking.

What exactly are you hearing that causes you to seek change?

Correct. Wilson pots their entire crossover in epoxy to "prevent vibration and physical damage". I feel it's so people can't copy the crossovers, but to each his own...

Good to know, I wasn't certain how they were housed inside those 'pots'. A shame! Nothing in particular that I wanted to do, just to experiment and see how they could be improved. Unfortunately from looking at it, swapping out drivers might not be possible with the way it is designed, and clearly the crossover cannot be worked on. I suppose i'll just go about restoring their exteriors and putting them up for sale

I believe Wilson sells replacement foam for the baffle front.

If you are the speaker modding type, Wilson's are not for you. They are made to ridiculous standards with unique materials and sound great as you know.

I'd love to grab a pair of the CUBs off you, but you're on the wrong coast...
