I need help looking for a phono cartridge for a Kenwood turntable. It is for my dad and dont really know where to start looking. I have ordered cables from the needle doctor but they really dont have a way to search for them on their web site by Make / Model. Or if they do I dont understand it.

Any way here is the info my dad gave me.

Kenwood Turn table.
Model # KD72FD

Supplied cartrage was a V-56 Dual Magnet Type.
N-56 Stylus 0.6 mill Diamond.

Any suggeston on a desently priced cartrage? What kind of quality is this trun table. Good, Average, Junk?

Thanks for your time.

    If it weighs 5 lbs.....cheap

    10 lbs. ....getting there

    15 lbs. .....maybe worth fixing

    20lbs.and above ....definitely worth fixing.

I tried to find your TT on ebay and only found servive manuals so I don't know. Sorry
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Not a whole lot to be found about those. I'm pretty sure it's an FB though, not an FD.

If there is a "Guitar Center" store nearby you can pickup a decent Stanton or Shure cartridge in there pro audio center for $40-$100 and save the shipping cost. Almost instant gratification, but you still need to install and allign the cartridge once you get it. Google "Baerwald protractor" and you will find a printable version (I think it is on the Vinyl Engine website) that you can use to get your allignment close enough.
Enjoying the journey while never attaining the destination.
