Saw this today and it piqued my interest. I wonder how much they will run?

I was hoping they would be serious phones not the iPod type.

    Cool though,

    Cool though,

I'll admit, I'm not a big fan of the white/orange color scheme but they don't look to be chintzy iPod headphones to me. They look pretty serious. Just need a less LOUD color scheme.

Might have to put some earbuds on my xmas list now. Thanks for the info.

They don't look like ear buds to me. They look like full cans with a band that wraps around the back of your head instead of ruining your hairdo over the top.

awesome doro.. i know I personally am doing a lot of headphone listening so would love to try out what polk's new offerings are on these. With so many people listening portably, and the beats crap doing so well testing the headphone waters is a good move by Polk I would think.

    Cool though,

    Yeah I second this.

Polk has a great reputation for offering high-end(ish) performance at down-to-earth prices. I'd love to have seen them come out with a high performance <$250 can.

The woodheadphones arent too expensive. The FAQs is pretty fun to read however.

Q4: How should users store the wood headphones? Will they be damaged by worms?
A4: Please do not put the headphones near to fire, water or acid liquid. Keep the headphones in a suitable place. If there is some water on the wood house surface, please use a dry cloth to clean it. We have dried the wood before mass production, and they are also very hard in quality, so we have not got complains about the damage caused by worms.

I didnt know any headphones should be near fire in the first place.

Looks like Polk Audio will get some competition in the headphone market as both PSB and Paradigm announced their enterance into headphones.

Pretty cool. I hope they are 'durable'. I don't know how many sets of earbuds I've bought for my daughter's ipod in the last year? I keep telling her that she should upgrade for some better 'sound', but you know how that goes.

If Polk has some 'cool' colors maybe I can talk her into a pair? Kids!

A lot of people have hit the headphone market.
Most of them shouldn't of bothered.
I hope Polk has done their homework.
Over the last couple of years, there have been more than a few
$$$$$$$ ones too. About have of them are a fail as well!
I'm really waiting for a killer set of small cans that are somewhat portable
and under $200. So far, what I got is a bunch of big non-portable ones
    for a lot more money.

I'm pretty big into headphone gear, you'd be amazed how incredible the sound is when you start getting into high end cans and headphone amps.
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

I think the important question here is, is 'she' coming to Polkfest to Demo those?
