As the title says my amp is back from referb. The following is what was done;
- upgraded the main filter capacitors to 10,000Uf
- resoldered all board joints (2 boards)
- upgraded 8 transisters
- upgraded 4 resisters
- replaced both lamps
- cleaned gain pot
- load tested

They also gave me a 1 year warentee on the work.

I brought it home Friday and played it at low volumes and did the same Saturday.Today I decided to do some critical listening. I was curious as to how it would work with my Anthem Pre. I have had my old Rotel hooked with it for a while and have been happy.
My first impressions are that the Carver definatley has more power and a warmer sound. The mids seem more detailed and overall the bass seems much better. I think I'm really going to like the combination of the Carver and Anthem.

Here is a video I took where used Phill Collins "in the air tonight" as a test song.

    I ended up getting it done at Ontario Audio Video. I spoke to the other guy you suggested but he was going through some personal issues (death in the family) so he was not going to be available for some time to do the work. I asked him about ontario video and he said that he heard their work was good.

    I've heard nothing negative yet from that shop and I have talked a couple of times to Rick as well. Cool dude. Well, enjoy the music.
