Question about sub....

Options
Ok, here goes, i've been reading these forums for a long time now but never actually posted. I gotta say i've learned as much here as i have anywhere, haha. Anyway....

I'm building a modest set up and here's what i have so far:
Polk Audio Monitor 50s series II
Polk Audio CS1 series II

I plan on ordering the Onkyo TX-SR508 very soon (plan on bi-amping the 50s). Obviously I plan on ordering a new sub too (most likely a psw110 or psw505), but for now am stuck with the one i have. Its an Advent Subwoofer III. From what i can gather online here are the specs:

Two 6-1/2 woofers
50-180 Hz +- 3 dB at 75 watts
Passive Subwoofers

Here's the question: since it's a passive sub, should i use it in my setup until i order the new one or do you think it would take away from the monitor 50s since the speaker wires are ran through it then to the 50s? I'm really not sure how that works.

Thanks for any and all help in advance!

Ha! You know what i don't even know why that didn't dawn on me. With the Monitor 50s rated down to 47Hz and all. Guess i could always glue legs on the Advent and use it as a end table?

Just be patient and get the 505 when funds allow, you'll be glad you did.

Better to cry once, than cry twice. Save and get what you want, don't compromise.
