I currently have the 600i (got it for 149 each from frys brand new)....but I am tempted to go for the 800i (should have gotten it when they were $199 each a week back) or the 1000i

    dmamsa,

I would look at the 800's or 1000's they will give you a fuller sound. The 800's are a great sounding speaker, but I decided on the 1000's. You have to be careful when listening to the 1000's in a store, the store usually has the bass set too high and it won't sound clean. Whichever one you decide, you will not be disappointed. Enjoy.

i have the 800's and they are great! it was between the 800s and 1000s for me, and i liked the sound of the 800's much better (of course, as mentioned above, i am sure that the 1000's weren't set as accurately as they could be), they sounded muddy and a little boomy. the 800's had a much fuller presentation in the midrange, i am going with a stand alone sub for the bass that the 800's can't reach...

Go with whatever you can get the best deal on. I too have been extremely happy with the 800i.

I ended up getting the 800i from CC, got a great deal on them.

Used the AVIA guide to set my HT and now I am ready for my movie experince.

my f/x300i look too big-but I guess I wont get the perfromance by going to a different band.

    Thanks for your recommendation.

How many hours do I need to "burn in" my speakers?

    dmamsa-

Although I think your last question will elict all manner of exotic reponse.
And this reply will surely bring the wrath of many, burn in is a myth.
Take it easy on them the first few listens.
Vary the volume, but never strain them.
After a week or so they'll be ready to play harder.

In my opinion RT 800i's are the best full-range tower spearkers from Polk Audio. If someone is looking for the speakers go for RT 800i's. They are the best speakers with dual mid/bass drivers. Add an external sub then they'll beat any system or any speakers with built-in subwoofers.

    I love my RT 800i's!
