Cable burn-in

Can I burn in a pair of cables connected to a CD player that aren't attached to a AMP/AVR? Essentially I want to have the CDP play for a few days but the other side of the cables aren't plugged into anything.

    I kno that works for burning in a CDP, most don't matter, but my Jolida sounded like @ss out of the box for some reason. left it on constant play for 3 days straight with no amp or whatnot, came back and it sounded better.

    wether that also works for the cable itself? I never heard cable burn in make a difference so I couldnt be certain, though signal is going through it so i assume it does the same as if it is hooked up to a reciever, but not 100 percent sure.

    The point of "burning in" a cable is to charge the dielectric to the point that the energy it absorbs and discharges during signal transfer reaches a minimum.

    Would signal pass through the cable? I'd think the CDP would see essentially infinite resistance, and so no signal would pass.
