Center Channel Options with TSi300

Hello,

I just setup a new system with TSi300's for my mom but I don't have a good place for the CS10. It's to large to fit below the TV with other devices that are there, and it's to large to mount above the TV.

Are there any other Polk options that fit well with the TSi300's that are smaller?

Thanks,
Rob

Is it a width problem or a height problem? Or both? You could put smaller speakers there but, yo run into a audio mismatch problem. Too quiet or just a different sound from the others. If anything, maybe a single TSi100 stuck in there some how. They are only sold in pairs so one would have to be put somewhere else.

It's actually a depth issue for above the TV and the height for below the TV. Width isn't an issue.

In some cases, people have put the center on the floor. I don't recommend it but, it's better than nothing. Or, if you are handy enough, build a shelf above the TV for the center. Or, can you prop up the TV a little? Or, move the devices elsewhere. If it is all the HT hardware, they can basicly go anywhere. There is nothing magic as to where they go.

I run "phantom" in my upstairs set up. Works fine. But, now you have a paper weight.

    WELCOME TO CLUB POLK!

Although not ideal. You do know that you can put that center on the floor as it TILTS upward when you turn it upside down. That tilt allows it to beam the sound to your ears--it's designed for that if placed LOWER than the TV. You could even put it on a small stand that was very low and still tilt up?

    Think about it.

You could also get a large enough center, like the Cs400 that the TV could sit on. It's got the depth and the width. I mention the older model center channels because the new ones have a tapered top where a TV couldn't sit flat on.

That's what I did when I didn't have any other place to put the center channel.

When going small fails, go large! The center channel speaker is the most important speaker in your entire home theatre. Don't skimp out.
