I set up my receiver last night and before that I wasn't too impressed. Now that I ran it through SACCD (whatever it's called) I am totally blown away by how well this receiver sounds and I completely feel like I'm sitting in a theater except that it sounds better than a theater  !

My only issue is that I put in 'Up' on Blu-Ray and it's only coming up as DTS and not HD DTS or any other better format. Maybe I'm doing something wrong with my settings but I'm not certain just where right now. Oh I am hooked up HDMI to my Blu-Ray which is a PS3.

I don't have a PS3, but you may want to check how the signal is being sent to the receiver. If it's like anything else, you probably can choose PCM or bitstream.

Basically that is the setting that selects "Who" decodes the signal, your PS3 or the receiver. Maybe someone else can chime in that actually is using their PS3 though.

Mind saying how much you picked it up for? Assuming you got it at Best Buy unless you paid some rediculous money to get it overnighted. I'm considering the same receiver (been following some of your threads since I've got a 635 too)

If you have the slim PS3 you can set it to do audio out via bitstream. if you have the older style PS3 your only option is PCM and you won't get the fancy 'HD' audio indicator on your receiver.

Yeah I found a very informative link that helped me fix it...Everything sounds quite amazing. I test The Dark Knight and Up for good measure  . Oh I have the old style PS3 but I can live without the fancy display.

Glad you like the 1120k. I just purchased the vsx-32 which is basicly the same unit with elite badging.
I have always been a little iffy on the auto calibration systems on avrs but your right the MCACC is really good.
I leave mine on pure direct and never change a thing, it sounds great.
