Hey guys, FINALLY after a year of planning I have finally started to pull the trigger on my H/T system. I have purchased the TSi 300 towers and the TSi 100's. The tower package came with a free monitor series PSW 10 sub (which will be upgraded to the PSW505 as soon as I get the system put together). I now need help selecting a receiver, I did have my eyes on the Onkyo SR707 but I missed the boat and that has gone up significantly in price.

What does everyone think about the Onkyo TX-SR608 receiver? Would it fit my package well? I will also be using the CS20 center channel.

Also please throw me any ideas for a good, attractive durable stand for the TSi 100's.

Thanks!

Jeff

I would at least get the 707/708 and up onkyo. They have pre outs which means you'll be able to add an external amp in the future.

I think onkyo and polk are awesome

I had the 607 and it was great but you could buy a 707 so you can add an amp later . A707 can be bought cheaper than a 608 that has no pre outs

Wood technology are the best value stands

Thanks guys, the stands look great. I read some of the reviews on the 608 and there seemed to be alot of video problems with that receiver. I think I will stick with the 707.

1 inch smaller than the actual dimensions would be ideal.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I ordered a pair of Wood Tech. stands for my monitor 7s and can say they are well made and go together easily. I ordered the ones made of real wood instead of mdf. I liked them enough that I ordered another pair. They are not cheap but they look very nice and they're solid.
