How would you hook up my equipment?

I bought one of those Pioneer Elite dv-79AVI players when they were selling on the cheap. I am using a Yamaha AVR that has 5.1 channel inputs as well as the standard other inputs.

The Elite will be used for DVD and CD (don't own any sacd's yet but might in the future)

Would you recommend having it pass a digital audio signal or using the analog outs? Do you think it would even make a difference?

I have my Yamaha avr running center and surround, B&K amp powering mains.

    IMO HDMI for video analog for music as long you are not using the cables in the box

    Could also use different source inputs on AVR and go back and forth

    Mint. Thanks for the ideas. I've been coming down with a cold and brain correctly don't well work right now. I would have never thought of hdmi for dvd and analog for cd for some reason. lol

    I think I will do that.
