I recently listed my D40 and lenses HERE, but I've decided to move one of my D80 cameras and lens as well, so I figured it would be easiest to post everything in one thread.
I really don't need a D40, 2 D80s and a D7000, so I'm going to let my D40 and one of my D80s go (going to hang on to the other D80 as a backup).
You'll see that I have two packages listed. Right now I have these packages listed as how I purchased them and how I prefer to sell them, but I'm open to mixing and matching, with one caveat - I dont' want to sell the lenses and accessories apart from the camera bodies just yet, I'd like to give anyone who's interested the chance to buy a full camera package and can't do that if I've already sold off the lenses.
D40 Package - $380 + shipping
- Nikon D40 Camera Body
- Nikon 18-55mm Lens (I believe it's THIS one)
- Nikon 55-200mm VR (vibration reduction) lens (THIS one)
- Camera strap
- Nikon camera bag
- Battery charger
- 2 batteries
- Caps and UV filters for both lenses
- 2GB SD Card
- Instruction manual, this is really more of a comprehensive guide on using the camera
D80 Package - $525 + shipping
- Nikon D80 Camera Body
- Nikon 18-135mm Lens
- Battery Charger
- 2 Batteries
- Cap and UV filter for lens
- 4GB SD Card
- Instruction Manual
Again I'm willing to mix and match, so if you want the camera bag with the D80 or 2 lenses with the D80 or the 18-135 with the D40 let me know and we'll work something out.
I think I've got them fairly priced and lower than any other deal I can find, but if you can find them cheaper let me know.

In the rare case you get someone who wants just the lens then I might be interested in the D80 body only. I know this isn't an optimal deal so feel free to sell to someone who wants the complete package.

Please add me to the list of people interested in the D80 body should you decide to separate it from the package.
That said, I think you have indeed set these packages at fair prices, in fact I would say they are somewhat below market prices. Nice.
You might want to the state the condition of the gear, but I assume if there were any issues you would have mentioned it.
Best of luck with the sale. -
Okay, a fairly minor change and some price reductions, see below:
I discovered that I have all the original boxes and packaging for the D40 package, so what I'm going to do is move the camera bag from the D40 package to the D80 package and then ship the D40 package in it's original packaging, inside a bigger box of course.
I also discovered that I don't have the USB or the video output cable for either package. The USB cable is your standard mini USB cable, so you probably already have one of those. Both cables are about $6 each online though, so they're cheap enough to replace.
As a result of the package changes, having no cables and in just a general effort to sell the packages in tact, I'm reducing the prices a bit. Below are the revised kits and prices for each.
D40 Package - $350 + shipping
- Nikon D40 Camera Body
- Nikon 18-55mm Lens (I believe it's THIS one)
- Nikon 55-200mm VR (vibration reduction) lens (THIS one)
- Camera strap
- Battery charger
- 2 batteries
- Caps and UV filters for both lenses
- 2GB SD Card
- Instruction manual, this is really more of a comprehensive guide on using the camera
D80 Package - $500 + shipping
- Nikon D80 Camera Body
- Nikon 18-135mm Lens
- Nikon Camera bag
- Camera Strap
- Battery Charger
- 2 Batteries
- Cap and UV filter for lens
- 4GB SD Card
- Instruction Manual
I believe those prices to now be WELL under the going rate for these packages.
I know I could sell these quicker and grab more cash in the long run by splitting everything up, but I'm really confident that each package is a great setup and someone would be well served by either one. I'll give it through the weekend for the packages then I'll start splitting things up.
I do have these listed on Craigslist as well, but am listing them cheaper here. -
fwiw, the nikon d40 and d80 both use a cable with a 5 pin mini usb connector. these cables literally cost 99¢ on ebay including shipping (two week wait for delivery from china). but in my opinion using the cable is a hassle as it means having to having to connect it to the camera, lifting the little rubber door on the camera to insert the cable, and requires that the camera is turned on (draining the battery), etc. the easier thing to do is remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into the card reader built into most computers. if you don't have a card reader in your computer then a good usb card reader can be had for arround $10.

That is great prices for some good gear, someone should jump on this. I never hook the camera up, I always use a high speed card reader.Pio Elete Pro 520

Sweet deal. I wish I had the coin. I was fortune enough to get hooked up the way I did here, but I wish mine would do video too. No biggy. I have a camcorder

Merry Christmas
BenPlease. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

Yup, that's the way I figured it. I was toying with the idea of buying a D90 but the wife probably wouldn't let me since "her" present to me this Christmas is an iPod touch 64GB. That can do video so I don't need it on the camera, and I have a camcorder too. Good video DSLR's are costly though. The D90's video isn't that good. Even the D3100 has poor video performance.
The D80 will be replacing my D40x. I am keeping my 18-105mm VR lens and selling the D40x with the lens here. Any takers? The picture performance will probably be equivalent since I think they share similar sensors, but the D80 will have more key features that I miss from my film camera.
Thanks for the deal! -
