After much thought i`m replacing my onkyo sr606 with onkyo nr807. I BOUGHT AT Accessories4less. refurb for $429. Does anyone out in this forum have a 807 and would like to share their opinion. Will i notice any difference in the AVR. Its got more power, download firm, pre outs. Its bigger the my 606. I`m having buyer remorse .

If you got Pre amp outputs, you did ok IMO as you could upgrade again in the future if you like without being lockout. Not really sure if you would hear anything upgrade from 807 vs. 606.

    +1

Having preouts alone seems to be a good move in the right direction.

What exactly were you looking for in the upgrade besides preouts? Sound quality? watts? HDMI 1.4?

My old 607 was a pretty good contender. I've heard a lot of good things about the 807.

I have the 807 and I like it..

It was a big jump up from my previous Onkyo - the 503. Not sure about the 606 and how much of a difference you would hear though...

I just bought one too.. waiting for it to come in.

    $429 is a lot cheaper than $1100.

I have an 805 and a 605 and YOU can hear the difference between those. But then again, the 805 is twice the weight of the 605 which is NOT true of the 806/7/8 so I don't think you'd hear as much of a difference with the later models.

As mentioned above. The important thing is getting those pre-outs for future amplification. Any 700 or 800 series has those.
