Looking for a new receiver. Pioneer Elite is still out of my range... so I found the NR807 on accessories4less for $399 + $26 shipping.

Yeah it's refurb, but i've seen some people recommend the refurbs from this site on the forums and I decided to give it a go.

What are your opinions of the model, and the site?

It was this or the new SR608, but this seems like a much nicer model, and I don't need 3D

This will either go in my bedroom, or in my living room. It won't be driving my Polks (those are Yamaha powered currently). More than likely it will replace the HK 254 for the Klipsch system in my sig... I wish it had 2 HDMI outs, but alas those only come on the units $1000 or higher.

Thanks guys.

Its a great deal and a great site. I went with a receiver from a local store only due to the HDMI issues the Onkyo models had the year I was purchasing. Otherwise I would have a used one from there myself.

The Onkyo HDMI issues can't be worse than my HK 254 HDMI issues... I'd consider it an upgrade lol.

True that. The HK 347/247 were dogs. Good deal on the Onk.

I love onkyo and if you have speakers that are bright or forward like my martin logan or the horn tweeters you have it should sound awesome

I dont think onkyo has issues with hdmi as it just may seem like it because of them many thousands they sell ... very reliable if you ask me and great sound

Nice price....nice receiver. My own Onkyo was a refurb...from Club Onkyo...one year warranty. Now three years old and still ticking, fingers crossed?

Unlike Pfarmboy, I don't think of Onkyo when I think of Horns. As its not the warmest sounding piece. Usually you want to warm up horns not add to their naturally bright and forward character? But I see you have some Parasound amplification? Will you be keeping that, because that will probably 'help'.

    Enjoy the new toy.

I'll try it out with and without the Parasound.... Either way yeah I'll keep the amp, i like it and got it cheap ($200).
