Basically, My old 55" Sony died and it's time for me to get a new TV. 3D isn't a huge deal but I figure I should get a 3D one anyway. I don't have anywhere near where I live to actually compare TV's, but I'm interested in the Samsung UN55C7000 and the UN55C8000. IMO, the last time few times I was to a Futureshop/Bestbuy etc. I thought the Samsung had the best picture, then LG, Then Sony. I'd be interested in people's oppinions who've actually seen these TV's. I'm not necessarily opposed against other brands and the price difference between the C7000 and C8000 isn't necessarily discouraging.

Thanks,

You can turn the C700 into a C800 via the Service Menu. I think you would be happy with either one. Both nice sets.

Both are great. I was at Americantv near me and they had about 50 tv's to view. I saw both 7000 and 8000. Both throw an outstanding picture. The 9000 is also outstanding but cost about $1500 more. My favorite there was the Panasonic 25. Best picture there and costs the same as the 7000.

Enjoy the UN55c7000 which I have been "moving" at least 2/3 set a week. Nice TV with good promo ( free 3 D-starter kit and a free 3-D bluray BDC5900 or BDC6900). If you get the BDC 5900 then you will need the wifi stick for Internet apps..

The Un55C8000 has a precise local dimming and the picture slighty better than the UN55C7000.

ANW, congrats on a new purchase. Now, please get out and vote .

Got the UN55C7000. I like it a lot, PQ is great so far (even off angle viewing) and I have not calibrated it yet. Kicks the **** out of my old Sony. I haven't got the glasses yet. The only negative that I've noticed so far is the blacks near the bottom corners (only of some of the viewing) doesn't seem to be crisp and clear almost as if there is a flashlight behind the screen. Overall, at this point, I am very satisfied.
