just bought 5 marantz ma500u monoblocks off cl for 100 bucks.

want to hook up to preouts of denon avr3300

the monos did not come with the yellow cords to daisychain, but im not interested in that anyway.

however, some webpostings from users seem to describe poweron and off issues without hooking up with the yellow cords from marantz.

could it be that its as simple as running rca cord from avr to input on mono then wire to speaker and using power switch on front of amp, im not worried about whether the rec. powers amps on and off.

the main thing i want to be sure of is that im not going to fry or damage anything

it is good to be back on with you guys, my moms needing a lot of care and at the same time im trying to get her place ready to sell.

if anybody wants a house and 8.5 acres in the north georgia mountains at a great price let me know.

but first, let me know how not toblow my **** up

Yes, it's that simple. Run a good coaxial interconnect cable to each mono then connect the speakers to the amp. Nice deal btw. Please don't use those crappy patch cord rca cables.

living here in the mountains, the only place to go and buy cables and such right now would be the shack, i think i know what they would say if i just went and asked i f they had proper cables.

serious tape was used at the yard sale, where the only people who even asked about these were hoping they were car audio.

i guess i will use a plastic putty knife to scrape most of the tape off.

if anyone has a recommendation on cleaner, the fronts appear to have a different surface than the rest of the bodys, otherwise i would just try a little cleaner somewhere inconspicuous.

also the white specs are apparently on the camera lens, not on the amps.

Goo be gone will take the tape off. If you can't find it use Vegetable oil or olive oil.

Seriously you will scratch the crap out of them with a putty knife..

i found a couple monster cable ics in the gob of wiring that people have thrown in with some of the purchases i have made through cl.

so far i have 2 amps hooked up to denonavr3300 and played a couple cds on denon dcm 460, played over some nice dcm tf 400s.

    its loud.

    as hell.

not having a remote for receiver, im not able to really tune the rec. like i would like, and the tone controls on the rec. dont work using the amps. i am looking forward to swapping different speakers around and hooking surround up and seeing the difference they make.

by the way i was wondering if the pcm function from cd player should make a difference on older cds or is that something the cd has to be encoded with because it really does not seem to make any difference when switched on.
