Just wanted to post a few thoughts on the the new xbox slim I picked up at walmart just now
Upon opening the box I could tell that it looks way more classy than the original 360 .The 360 still has some weight but is nice and compact
The thing that makes this worth the money is how quiet it is during operation as My old xbx was tremendously loud making netflix and downloaded movies unwatchable . Everything feels good from the touch power and eject feeling way softer and more responsive than the ps3
The thing that makes the xbx slim not worth the money is the fact that I could not buy the 4gb version and use my existing 20g harddrive from my previous xbox ?????? so I was forced to buying the 250gig vesion costing $100 more. The assistant in walmart told me that you cant even play halo reach online with the 4gig xbox slim so that blows

MS really nickels and dimes you w/ the 360. Doesn't help considering it lags the PS3 in alot of practical & media-related features.Dali Optikon 1Mk2

I have both but the old xbx360 does not allow you to play kinect games and the built in wifi is faster on the new xbx

I thought the old Xbox was capable of Kinect?

I did too but its not to my understanding? At least thats what the walmart sales rep told me

I have both and the new one's built in wifi only gets one bar and cuts out, my old one had 3 out of 4 bars and was always solid. Needless to say i'm not impressed with the built in wifi but it does look nicer and runs cooler and quieter.

The only difference is that the old 360s require the use of a USB port and a power dongle plugged into the wall. The 360 Slim's special Kinect port acts as both USB and power, so you don't need the dongle. Kinect will work with any 360 on the market.Equipment list:

When my old xbox dies, I might try this. I'd just want some foam to support the hd. -
I might try this and go buy another xbox . If it works then thats a saving of $100

FYI: I bought the 250gb Xbox 360 Slim to replace my 120gb 360, bought the transfer cable from Gamestop, transferred all my data from the 120gb to the new system, then took the cable back for a refund. :PEquipment list:
