HELP With AV Decision

Here are the contenders:

Onkyo TX-NR3007 @ $1075
Sony STR-DA6400ES @1099
Yamaha RX-V3900 @843
Pioneer Elite SC-27 @1139

Maybe Yamaha RX-A2000 @ 1199

3d is not a must have - the price is just in the ball park with the A2000.

Any recommendations on the receivers listed will be great. I am leaning ever so slightly toward the Pioneer because of the ICE amplification.

If there are any others that would come in under $1500 please advise. These are just a starting point.

I'll be running RTi12s - CSi5 - RTi6s - Velodyne Optimum 12 for HT and a pair of Swan D2.1SE for stereo/music. If the Swans really sway me (I don't have them yet) I may end up with the entire Swan D series for my HT as well.

Thanks Polk folks...

Forgot to add that my listening preferences are 50/50 for music/HT. So the receiver needs to deliver on both ends.

Currently using a Sony STR-DA5000es - VERY nice sounding on HT and music.

I have an Elite matched with my RTi series and the sound is very dynamic for HT. It's also good for music (better than the Onkyo 607), but not as good as my old HK 240.

If you read around on this and other forums, you'll find that the Elite line is highly regarded in the receiver world...but it all depends on your system.
    HT: RTi8s, CSi3, RTi4s, HSU ULS-15, Pioneer Elite VSX-23TXH, Sunfire Cinema Seven.
2CH: CJ MF2300, Parasound P3, PS Audio DLIII, Wadia 170i, Music Hall Maverick, Sierra-1s, Sunfire HRS8

    TORI3,

The sc-27 got really good reviews and the PQLS along with the ICE amps make it hard to discount.

I can get the sc-37 for $250 more than the sc-27. Just don't know if the amount jusrifies the HDMI upgrade for 3D - plus I'm not sure I'll even go the 3D route.

Thanks for the reply - I'm still leaning toward the Elite sc-27:D

Nice purchase. I'm in the market for a new receiver to use as a pre/pro and am considering some of the same models that you were. Good luck with the Z7 and let us know how you like it.

Received the Z7 today and did a quick set-up just to make sure all is well. Once I get a chance to conduct a proper set-up I'll leave some comments - sound really nice as is though and looks great with my Yamaha SA-CD player.

Next in bound are the SWAN D2.1 SE speakers in Birds-eye Maple, Sony BDP-S1000ES, and Harmony 1100 all due tomorrow - 'cmon UPS dude!!
