Looking for a reciever to act as a pre only

I wana buy a receiver just to use as a pre as I am just gona buy a seperate amplifier because I dont want to mess with my martin logans

I realy dont care about music ...just HT :p

    Why not just buy a pre for HT??

    Also what is your budget??? HDMI???How many you might need???

    What do you need it to do???

    Pioneer, Oynko , Denon , Yamaha... All make good Receivers.. But it all depends on your Budget...

    Well I wana buy an anthem d2 but not this weekend thats for sure so I just want somthing for the least amount of money thats got pre outs to tide me over until all the funds are in place to buy the anthem

    What pioneer models have pre outs?

    I dont want onkyo as I wana try somthing differant after living with an onkyo for quite sometime

    Yamaha may be too bright but they are cheap so I wonder if I can try ones from amazon and send them back if I dont like them?

    I have a Pioneer SC-37 and I use it as a pre with Carver M1.5t amps.

    Used parasound avc 2500 can be had pretty cheap.

    Well no offense taken but this is about a thread about a cheapo avr to act as a pre

    I dont want a pioneer elite sc05 07 25 27 because the ice amps cant handle the logans properly like a high current amp can

    I could buy a pre with hdmi that beats the crap out of any avr for a couple of hundred more dollars than the pioneer ice receivers
