I have a MINT (sans a little dust), silver Benchmark DAC1 PRE for sale. It has zero flaws and is about 1 year old. This DAC1 features the upgraded op-amps throughout:

- 3 SPDIF coax inputs
- 1 Toslink input
- 1 USB input
- 1 set of Analog RCA inputs
- 1 set of RCA outputs
- 1 set of AES/EBU (on XLR) outputs
- 2 headphone outputs

It can be used as a line-level DAC, or as a preamplifier by a simple flip of a switch. Box, manuals included.

I'm selling to get the Benchmark DAC1 HDR.

CONUS only, money order only.

New: $1595
For Sale: $1150 shipped. The price is FIRM.

    You mean Mighty Mouse? :)

A friend of mine is a headphone nut and has a nice tube headphone rig and a Sony SCD-1. We were playing around with our systems and it was cool that the BM had 2 headphone outputs, so we could listen at the same time to the same song. He was impressed with it as a headphone amp.

I have added a tube pre to my rig (Modwright) that should shift the sound more to the romantic, so I think the BM should create a nice ying to the tube yang. Haven't tried it yet. Good luck with the sale. Venom

You definitely need to share with me how the Modwright/Benchmark gel---I've considered getting the Modwright....

Have you ever tried the BM in the preamp role?

My new Carbon 7 monitors are quite laid back, so the Benchmark synergizes beautifully with them.

My system has been mothballed for a while since my daughter came along 2 years ago. The Modwright 9.0 SE I have is a hybrid design, and my Butler amp is also a tube/ss hybrid. Some have said the combo of the 2 can be too polite, but I am thinking that the BM should right into that combo. The Modwright is my first tube pre and came with 3 sets of tubes to role. So that may be another factor to consider as far as synergy.

I have not tried the BM as a preamp yet, other than with headphones. The HDR version is supposed to be great from recent reviews. I was thinking of eliminating a pre and just use the BM, but I am curious about the tube factor, rolling, etc...One other thing I also must have is HT bypass, that BM has not yet put into their products. Rory at BM knows me well and asked me to send a request for a remote model a few years ago. I guess they listened. :)

I'd take it if someone wanted my Music Hall DAC 25.2 for $400 shipped. Like new, used a few hours, volume control for headphones was a little scratchy sounding from factory, no marks.
