So for the longest time I was looking to buy the Harmony One remote. However seeing it doesn't do RF I didn't pick one up. Currently I've seen both the 1100 and the 900 in person and like both of them and how they function.

I'm not buying this right now, will probably suggest from the GF as a christmas present, or a gift for being a good bf :D so looking to see if anyone has any experience with one or the other and any issues they had, espically with the RF functions and if there were any glitches ect.

Biggest complaint I can find with the 1100 is that normally you have to have 2 hands to use it, which doesn't really bother me. So anything else I should watch out for?

This would be for my HT set up only with currently 6 devices, would be adding one or two down the road.

I have got 1100 and returned it in a week . Now i have 900 and I am more than happy. Just get 900 beleive me. you can use only 1 hand and dont need to look at the remote when you use it.

well like I said, I'm not bothered by using two hands.

did you just not like the fact you have to look at it otherwise is the reason for the return?

^ I can't say I've personally used the 1100 but a lot of people around here have the same complaint about having to look at the screen. For one night if your watching habits are like mine, try flipping channels/reading the on screen guide for programs while looking at the remote... I can't think it would be an easy thing to get used to for me.

I can't speak for poofy, but all Harmony remotes have basically the same functionality. It pretty much comes down to whichever one feels better in your hand, and how many boxes you need to control. Touch screen, or not. RF, or IR, are pretty much your options.

I use the 1000 (very similar to the 1100) and many functions can be done one handed (volume, mute, channels) more functions will take two hands but the screen is very visible and it is easy to switch between units to control. Use it form multiple different rooms and systems. Occasionally does have a lock up that requires removal of battery to release though, but otherwise very much enjoy it.

I had the 1000 and couldn't stand it. Having to use two hands and having to look at the remote doesn't sound like a big deal, but I could never get used to it. I switched to the 880 and like it alot.

wasn't there problems with the 1000 or am I thinking of a different one? I thought the 1100 came out because the 1000 was recalled due to issues with firmware updates on it...

and honestly this is going to be for my HT set up only and I acutally don't watch any cable (movies and games only). I am commonly on my iphone and don't mine using two hands to control something. I've played with both and they are fine and feel comfortable for me to work, and can even do the volume stuff ect all with one hand. I'm just trying to get rid of the extra remotes I have. One for the PJ, one for DVD, one for the Blue ray, one for the AVR, blah blah blah and have RF.

Two hands wasn't really the big deal for me, it was having to look at the remote to operate it, I much prefer going by feel than having to look at it.

They did recall the 1000, but mine was returned long before I had a chance to experience any technical issues.

I'm using the 900. Its RF system is very inconsistent; I ended up using IR only.
The main reason I choose the 900 over the 1100 is because the 900 has plenty of "real" buttons for me to push while the 1100 almost exclusively deals with touch screen. In the middle of the 900 there are the Menu - Info - Guide - Exit buttons & 4 colored buttons (red-green-yellow-blue) which are very handy for DirecTV receiver - Bluray player - PlayStation3. I don't want to have to go through additional clicks to find the buttons that I need, so the 900 is better in that sense.
My old one is the 880, which I am using for the bedroom now. To me, even though the 900 has a touch-screen LCD as well as looks better, the 880 holds its own. With the current pricing as well as considering the 900's bad RF system, the 880 is way way better value-wise.
Also, even though I have never tried the 1100, I would imagine that its battery won't hold as long as the the 900's due to the huge LCD screen.
